Thriller films vs Horror films

Differences between Thriller and Horror films

Thriller films are more psychological and they require more thought and explanation within the film itself. The purpose of a thriller movie is to constantly keep you on the edge of your seat and make the movie unpredictable in order to keep the audience fully engaged for the whole film.  A Thriller movie is supposed to tell a story, which is usually what makes the audience on the edge of their seat for the whole film whereas a horror main convention is to 'horrify' the audience and the storyline is a secondary priority. An example of a thriller movie would be Dunkirk. Horror films and Thriller films do overlap. Horror movies can be thrilling,  whilst Thrillers can be horrifying.  An example of this would be the film 'Get Out'. Horror films provide jump scares which keep you glued to the back of your seat. A horror film adds a sense of fear and it is made to frighten you. A horror film is a movie that seeks to elicit a physiological reaction, such as an elevated heartbeat, through the use of fear and shocking one's audiences.

Health and Safety

Health and safety is extremely important in film making. Here are some of the precautions we will take:

- When filming on roads we should pay a lot of attention to traffic to avoid accidents

-If we are filming with weapons or sharp objects, we will have to take extra precautions as it can be a potential hazard and it may result in an injury

- We will carry an emergency first aid kit in case of an injury

- When we will film on the tripod, we will ensure that the camera is correctly placed on it to ensure that the camera won't break
